In an episode that aired in May 2004, a man walked in the show with a random-looking woolen blanket. He claimed that the blanket was given to his family by Western frontiersman Kit Carson. Expert, Donald Ellis appraised it for $500,000 as it dated to the 19th-century and was a rare hand woven piece of wool.
Patek Philippe Pocket Watch
A watch from Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe’s pristine timepiece collection from the 1900s was brought in by a man. He received it in inheritance from his great-grandfather. Paul Hartquist estimated the watch for $250,000, a total in 2014 that was increased in 2016 to $1.5 million.
1907 Robert Henri Oil Painting
A woman showed up with a classic oil painting by American artist Robert Henri. The show was filmed in San Diego in 2010. She received this from her father and that the woman in the painting is her grandmother. Peter M. Fairbanks valued it for $250,000-$300,000, a total that was later raised to $500,000-$700,000 in 2016.
Leica Luxus II Camera
In Wales, United Kingdom this gold-plated Leica Luxus II camera was appraised for $1,252,000 at the show. It is claimed to be the world’s rarest and the only survivor of the four original camera’s covered with the lizard skin.
