The Manager Speaks
And so when the woman handed over the phone to her manager, a man was on the line. So as soon as the manager took the phone, Nagengast repeated what she had told the lady. She ended it with an, “I need you to help me. If you need me to pay for it, I will. We have to get this done.” She was at a point of desperation so she would accept the help of any sort.
Calling Another Person
So who was the person she was speaking to now? Well, she was now speaking to the manager named Jason Voss. Since the woman who called was in such a panic, he knew he had to do something. He came up with a plan of what needed to be done. Since he could leave the restaurant he made a call to Jimmy John’s driver Zach Hillmer to ask for help.
Another Veteran
So after Jason Voss, the restaurant manager made a call to the restaurant driver, he had explained to him about what was going on with Greg. And so it turns out Greg and Hillmer had something in common. The two of them were war veterans. And so the driver soon called Lisa to get the details and all of her brother’s information.
On Social Media
“At this poin,t I was confused because this was a social worker, they should already have his information. I asked him if Pam had failed to give him the file or whatever had his information and he said: “Umm, this is Jimmy Johns.” I said, “You mean Jimmy John’s like the food place?” Lisa later updated a post on Facebook explaining what went down that day.
Ready To Help Out
And so Lisa was in such a hurry and in such a state of trauma that she was willing to take any help she could get. She later spoke about going through with her plans to ask for help despite dialing the wrong number, “Yeah, I had called Jimmy John’s restaurant. Most places would have probably said something like, ‘Gee, I’m really sorry about your brother, but we can’t help you…’”
Golden Employees
It could have turned out to be such a disappointing call but she was lucky that day because the employees at the restaurant were super cooperative and helpful. She was happy about them not ignoring her, “But (Zach), the delivery driver at Jimmy John’s, picked up my brother and took him to the emergency room to get the medical attention he needed.”
