Overwhelmed By Emotion
Rose was bottled up with emotions and it was so vocal in her voice as soon as she started to speak again, “So I can’t hang it then?” she asked the curator who’s still stunned, as it finally appears to her that granny’s painting is worth a lot more than just being a mere decoration hanging in her bedroom. While Rose was already blown away by all the unknown she had discovered about this painting, Meredith began sharing more fascinating details with her.
The Sioux
The enthralling piece of art is a picture of a Sioux group riding horses on the trail of a rocky mountain. Moreover, the painting also marked the most prolific time of the artist’s career. “1890 is when we start to see some of his very best paintings. He represented the Native Americans in a very peaceful, tranquil way,” Meredith explained.
An Unusual Perspective
“You can see that in this painting, he didn’t really ever bring conflict into his work as some of the other artists of that time did, Charles Russell and Remington kind of would show the conflict with the Indians, he really just wanted to show the Native Americans in their natural environment–without too many other things happening besides the landscape around them.”
Behind The Canvas
“Her dad, I’m guessing, would’ve given it to her after she spent the summer at a dude ranch when she was 19, in, like, the ’40s,” Rose confirmed tearfully. It’s astounding how an heirloom turned out to be as worthy after years of being used as a mere wall decoration. That’s the funny thing about life, it takes a turn when you least expect it and Rose’s world was soon going to change.
Famous
There are so many amazing stories where real people share their out of ordinary experiences on social media and some of these stories even break the internet. Rose’s story went viral in no time as everyone was going bonkers over how she reacted after learning that the heirloom which had been passed down to her by her granny is worth a lot more than an ordinary painting.
Going Viral
The moment of Rose finding the worth of her cherished heirloom was being captured over a video camera. The video was later uploaded on YouTube, and it has managed to rack up over 464,818 views till date. “It was interesting that her first reaction was an expression of loss despite the value she learned the painting has. She said, “So, I can’t put it up?” a man wrote in the comment section. Rose was happy to get all the positive attention as everyone had only nice things to say.
