As we speak about how nice and sweet Colleen is, we must remember that she had that interrogation with the police. So on that particular day in 2016, when the police turned up at the restaurant to question Colleen, to say that it was out of the ordinary would be an understatement. Everyone was confused to see one of the crowd favorites at the restaurant in talks with the authorities.
Fake Money From A Patron
Just a few days before this happened, a very unfortunate event took place at the restaurant. Since Colleen was not a suspicious person by nature, she unknowingly took counterfeit money from one of her Red Robin patrons. Colleen did not expect that a loyal customer would ever do her dirty like that, so she did not think to recheck the money that she got.
Calling The Police
So as soon as the restaurant realized that the money Colleen has received was fake, they did the only sensible thing to do. They quickly called the police to hand the bills over in the correct. The restaurant wanted to deal with this miscommunication in a law-abiding fashion. It was really sad that this involved a very special member of the Red Robin family.
They Had To Be Sure
You would think that the police arriving would close off the whole incident but it was far from over. The police had to make sure that the beloved waitress Colleen was not a part of the whole plot. They had to be clear that she had nothing to do with the people that paid with fake money. After all, they did not know how sweet she was, so they had to be convinced that she was not partaking in any of it.
To Be Sure
When the restaurant informed the authorities, they wasted no time and quickly came to the scene. Since fake money is not a minor crime they came quickly to the restaurant where it has been used. The police officer who took the call had a word with Colleen just outside of the restaurant. They needed to ensure that she was not in on all of this.
Not Kidding
Since it was a patron customer that did this, it was not wrong of the policemen to be a little skeptical with Colleen. The police had spoken to the waitress beforehand and said to her, “I got assigned your $20 bill case from a little while ago. They started to hint a little bit at the fact they actually knew and that possibly you – now, again, I’m not kidding you.”
