Going Missing
Berr hurried to get the orders from the other patrons so he could finish up with David’s bill. However, when he returned to the Berr’s table to get the check with the money, just to find out that he had already disappeared. So when he found no one sitting at the table anymore, a thought crossed David’s mind. He had a guess that Berr had left an exact amount in cash or had left a check.
Getting A Shock
If ever you have eaten at a restaurant, you would be aware of how the payment is done. Majority of customers would pay their bills using a credit card or would sit to get their change back. However, this does not always happen every time. So when Berr was no longer there, David was a little shocked but did not think much of it. Just then, when David saw the bill, his mouth flew open…
Filled With Disbelief
“I pulled the check out to close it, and when I pulled it out, that’s when I saw everything. Their bill was very expensive it was like $190-something, that’s exactly the tip they left me,” confessed a very excited David. Berr indeed paid for the amount written on his bill, but he also gave a tip of about $200 as a tip for the server. Surely there must have been a mistake, right?
Eyes Are Not Deceiving
When the waiter gave the customer the bill, the amount he received was almost $400. And right next to it, Berr had also left a message: “We’re young, but we’re worth serving.” The young man he had been serving was indeed one generous man who was not afraid to tip big to the waiter who was so pleased with them amidst the crowd at the restaurant. David found this unbelievable but he rechecked and saw that his eyes were not lying.
A Miscommunication Perhaps?
Since this was a very odd occurrence, it would have left any other waiter or waitress puzzled to be left like this. So David was guessing that the stranger had committed some sort of mistake when this took place. He could not believe what was in front of his eyes, so he checked the bill a couple of times. Since Berr had already left, something inside him told him to chase the stranger.
To Find The Stranger
That night, despite being busy running after each and every order, David knew he had to somehow find the stranger who left the tip. “Unless you work in the service industry, you don’t really understand how much tips mean to a server, to a bartender,” David had revealed later in an interview he gave. He then went ahead to look for the person who had given him the unbelievable tip.
