For obvious reasons, Marie adopted the lifestyle of the rich. Though she did not have enough money to own a lavish lifestyle, she owes her this life to the two patrons named Madame Hecquet and James Burnett. When they both died, they left plenty for her to cherish.

Marie probably used all her influential links to her benefit. The wealthy dukes and patrons who had known Marie left their treasure for her to enjoy life-long. Marie is believed to die in the year 1775 when she was some 63-years of age. How did she die is not yet known. Even in the last stages of her life, she was believed to be dressed in silk and velvet gowns.

Little Known

No one really knows how did Marie turn into a feral child, survived in the forest and reach Songy village. All the theories related to her coming to life are hidden deep somewhere in the history. Whatever is learned about her is via the ancient papers from the 18th century. A lot of arguments are there on her questionable life but no conclusion has ever been derived.
