SakshiAnxiously Awaiting
The news got Maroney over the moon. He was finally going to see the girl he was looking for about a decade. He was growing impatient with every moment. Maroney expressed his ecstasy in an interview, he said: “I can’t wait to meet her to tell her how important she is.”
She Didn’t Know
LeShay was too small to remember the moment but her mother remembered everything. She was already thankful to the Sergeant and when she learned that he was looking for her daughter she could not help but get emotional. LeShay explained in an interview “I was excited that he was looking for me for such a long time. I’ve barely seen any of the pictures!”
Showtime
Finally came the day! It was September 2015, Mike Maroney and LeShay Brown was about to face each other. The show began with Maroney describing the moment sitting around the caste of the show and mother of LeShay. The girl, on the other hand, was waiting for her name to be called. Maroney said, “if she’s strong enough to handle this, I can handle this.” After a little bit more of chit-chat, the girl was called on stage.
Nervous Disposition
Whereas Maroney was used to of cameras following him, this was the very first time for LeShay. The girl had changed a lot. The smile spread on the face of Maroney when he saw her.
Thank You
The sergeant made most of the opportunity and thanked the young girl by describing her importance in his life. He said “your hug, it helped me through hard days and rough days. You rescued me more than I rescued you.” The environment had gone all emotional.
A Tearful Reunion
Once again the duo hugged each other and this time too their embrace created a magic. Hardly was there any person on set who did not cry that day. The sergeant said, “if not for her hug and her smile on that day, my life would probably be a lot different.”
