Offered Something More Valuable
Robert who never had a habit of keeping cash with him told the kids to get whatever they would like to eat from the store and not to worry about the payment at all. It was already late and the kids might not be thinking of having dinner that night. They seemed to be quite dedicated towards the charity work they were doing to support the local church.
Capturing On Camera
The kids were indeed hungry as they ordered five tacos each for themselves. While Robert was busy giving the order for the kids Jason was recording it on his phone. Robert was surprised to see how hungry these kids were and the kids were equally surprised by Robert’s kindness. It was a moment worth recording which Jason did properly.
Bystander
The customer who was sitting in the corner told, “I was in a taco bell tonight when two kids came in trying to sell homemade desserts for money. I overheard a soldier ask the kids if they were hungry and told them to follow him to the counter, he would buy them dinner. I had to video it and share. Our troops are always taking care of us. Thank u LTC Robert Risdon please please share this….I heard the little one say I want to be just like u when I grow up and saluted him.”
Heartwarming
“They both ate their first taco in under a minute. I’ve never seen anyone devour food that quickly before,” Jason Gibson, later on, explained in an interview. He was touched to see the kid’s condition and glad that he could do anything for them.
Showing Respect
The kids were so respectful towards both the soldiers. Jason told, “everything was ‘yes sir, no sir. Whoever is raising them is doing a great job.” When they walked in the restaurant everyone looked at them with suspicion but the kids were kind-hearted and were trying to make a change selflessly.
Wants To Be Just Like Him
The young kid was fascinated to see Robert in his military uniform. He told the Lieutenant with a lot of excitement that he looks forward to wearing the same costume one day. He innocently saluted him and told him that he really appreciate what he and his colleagues do for the country.
