The Right Thing

new-orleans-pool.jpgArchaeologist Ryan Gray was happy to know that Marcello wanted to inform them about his plans first. They could then perform the reburial plus learn more about the history of the bones uncovered. Marcello spoke with the radio explaining, “We call it the ‘pool of souls,” he added, “But we’re quite content to be on top of a cemetery, you know? We feel like it’s a good space. You know they always say we were, you know, a poltergeist site. But the fact is everybody is quite content to know they are swimming in the pool over coffins and stuff. It’s a very peaceful situation. It’s not anything that would be haunted or spooky.” Here is another account of 3 Mississippian kids’ discovery…

Mississippi siblings Caid and Sean Sellers with their cousin Michael Mahalitc were just enjoying their Spring Break in 2018 hanging our in their family yard. They soon discovered an object that they were not so interested in initially. But after taking a closer look, they could see that this was no ordinary object. It could even affect their future aim in life!

Was Not Petrified Wood

mastadon-jaw.jpgJust at the back of their Bovina, Mississippi property, Caid, Sean, and Michael would often find petrified wood that was in abundance. This time, their discovery was something unusual which Caid explained, “I thought it was a log. I tried to pick it up and it was really heavy and I saw teeth on it.” They went back in a golf cart to take the suspicious object home. After contacting a paleontologist they soon realized that it was a 100,000-year-old mastodon jaw!

Career In Paleontology?

boys-jawbone-inside.jpgPaleontologist George Phillips revealed, “We find pieces of Ice Age creatures all the time. You might find a fragment of a mastodon tooth or perhaps part of a bone but they found a really intact half lower jaw with two teeth. So everything seems to be intact.” Since these kids have an experience in paleontology and want to hold onto the jawbone, who knows what the future holds. Caid explained, “It’d be really cool if we found the body and stuff.”
