Terry discovered the most amazing treasure that has ever been found which made both Terry and Fred wealthy. But things weren’t looking good for Terry and Fred. Things around them started to change. The treasure which they found began to cause them trouble even when they sold it to the museum. But how?
The Artifacts
The hoard included 3,500 coins, 300 sword hilt fittings, 92 sword-pommel caps, and 10 scabbard pendants. There were three religious objects in the box that seemed to be only nonmartial pieces. Many items in the treasure were broken or bent in some way. Despite that, the Staffordshire Hoard discovery is thrilling and historic but above all, it was a mystery. Nobody could tell why this treasure chose Terry and why spoiled their life.

According to the historians, the ancient people buried stuff like these which were found in the hoard infused with magic and misfortune. The objects which were infused with magic was considered to be worthy. Like gold, which was appealing and immortal, it was instilled with magic and people back then wore the gold as amulets to divert the bad energies. Does that mean the pieces in the hoard were also infused with magic? It could be a possibility because what happened with Terry and Jerry was not good.
Could Be True?
As we told you there were three nonmartial pieces in the Staffordshire Hoard, two gold crosses and a slender strip made of gold engraved with a biblical quotation. But what is this magic these historians talked about? In Britain, Christianity arrived with Romans, lost when the Romans faded away. But with the arrival missionaries, it was reintroduced to Anglo-Saxon England. These missionaries came all the way from Ireland and the Continent. What about the Nordic sagas then which describe Smith’s magic arts, including Odin’s spear and gold ring to Thor’s hammer? This treasure was a mystery to everybody. It’s a Curse
Fred Johnson describes this treasure as a curse which ruined his friendship with Terry Herbert. He said that Terry turned out to be a very greedy person because after the discovery all he could think about was money. He didn’t even care about the friendship he had with Fred and money became his new friend. He even banned Fred from his land, “I wish I’d never met the man. It has caused me nothing but bother, all this.” But Terry has something else to say.
