Another Offer
With a new offer, Johnson approached Jones once again. This was certainly one that he would like. He said to Jones that he could have his empty barbershop, and have a warm space where he could continue to cut the homeless people’s hair during the chilly winter season.
Excitement And Confusion
When he got the offer, Jones became excited but equally confused, he could not believe his luck and thanked God for listening to his prayers. When they took him to see the place, he recalled that he had never seen himself worthy of being an owner his very own business.
All Up To Him Now
“He said, ‘Well, this building is sitting. Do you like it?’ And I said yes, I love it. He tossed me the keys and said, ‘Because of what you’ve done for others, this is my way of doing something for you.” Jones had said when he was questioned about how Johnson approached him.
Johnson Got An Inspiration
“When I found out, [I thought] ‘Well I need to be a part of that,” Johnson explained. “‘I need to see what I can do to help.” Johnson was in the works to open another barber shop, but decided to give the brand new shop to Jones to help him get his job cutting homeless people’s hair.
On Makeover Mondays
Jones would call Mondays as “Makeover Mondays” because it was the day he would give his free haircuts to the homeless. Jones also provides food and toiletries if needed, and opens the shop, to paying customers Tuesday through Saturday. Therefore he uses the money that he charges his regular customers to help make” Makeover Mondays” possible.
Not Really A Competition
Johnson does not give a thought about how Jones’ barber shop could be potential threat to his ongoing business, Taper’s Barbershop, which is on the same street. Johnson instead thinks of himself as a mentor to Jones, who is coming into terms with handling his own business.
