Watson soon began enjoying life again. He even helps others now that he has recovered. One of his caretakers had moved to the area after her fiance was hit by a drunk driver and died. With Watson’s help, she could recover and get better too.
A Perfect Dog
“He helped her heal, which is pretty remarkable,” Annamarie said. “I know he’s a dog but you really can learn a lot from this situation. People, or animals, they don’t have to be perfect to love them,” she added. “I mean, I think he is perfect just the way he is.”

On Omaha.com, Watson won the 2017 pet of the year after people heard about his inspiring story. After surviving such a traumatic accident, he could enjoy life with his family and even helping others later. Watson is truly one special dog.
