An Accident Had Occurred
“She’s like, ‘are you sure?’ “ Annamarie said she was but instantly felt the confidence in her answer fizzling off. Just down the block a golden retriever had been hit by a car and the neighbor came because she thought it might be the Mann’s…
How Is This Possible?
“My heart just sank,” Annamarie revealed. As she hurried down the block, she discovered that the neighbor was indeed telling the truth. Watson was lying there at the end of the block, covered with a sheet. She was filled with confusion. “How could Watson have gotten out?” she thought.
Out In The Street
It seems as though the gate at the backyard had been blown open by heavy winds. Watson took advantage of his opportunity to go running as soon as he spotted his opening. He rushed off into the street, swiftly colliding with the car.
Taken To The Vet
While Watson was still breathing and as he was rushed to the vet, Annamarie feared the worst. She called her husband, who met her at the animal hospital where they got the bad news together: Watson’s spine had been severed and his back legs were paralyzed.
A Unanimous Decision
The Manns were informed by the doctors about something that they would never want to hear. After 3 days of care for Watson, “almost 100% of the people we talked to said to euthanize,” Geoff said. The following week was very emotional for them.
A Difficult Call
The decision making was difficult. All they wished for was to do what is best for Watson as well as for their boys Jackson and Ethan. After deliberating, they accepted the clinic’s advice. After a tough discussion, Geoff called the clinic and told them to end Watson’s suffering.
