Another Version Of The Incident
In her third version, Mary said that she indeed agreed to have sex with the man, changing her stories yet again confusing everyone. She added that she wanted to tell the man to stop the act but was unable to stop it herself.
The Real Motive
In the end, after a lengthy questioning of many different suspects and witnesses, Mary confessed to fabricating the entire incident! She confessed to lying about all the rape only because she hoped it would get her school to give her a refund.
The Final Confession
On August 14, Mary voluntarily appeared in Bay County District Court for an arraignment on one count of false report of a felony. This would make her eligible for a four-year imprisonment and a fine of about $2000.
Request To Undergo Psych Exam
On September 29, Mary’s attorney, James F. Piazza, filed a motion to have Mary sent to the Center for Forensic Psychiatry. The staff-members at the center will examine Mary’s criminal responsibility and competency to participate in court proceedings, but only if it is granted.
