One could only see this strange sand as far as their sight allowed, in all directions. But it was quite gigantic and monstrous. The reason behind its presence was shrouded in mystery. Its purpose unknown. With nothing certain the voyage continued sailing through it, with questions in abundance hovering above their heads, hoping for answers.
An Unending Labyrinth
But it seemed to be an unending affair. No matter how far the crew passed this field of pumice it only seemed to grow exponentially. As this issue seemed to pose danger to the lives of the crew members, the crew decided it was best to speed up and get out of it before getting lost in this labyrinth.
A Threatening Eruption Occurred
The crew took their first breath of relief on passing the pumice field. But this moment of relief was a nine day’s wonder as a loud grumbling sound shattered their ears, which deafened them out for quite some time. On scrutinizing for the source of this chilling disturbance, the crew comes across the harrowing sight of water bubbling and rising in the distance.
The Sea Erupts!!
Luck was on their side. They had very narrowly escaped a volcanic eruption in the sea. They must’ve thanked their guardian angles as they witnessed the eruption going on from the distance. The sea erupted at the same place, where the crew encountered the mysterious sandbar like thing. They just escaped by a whisker.
Making History
The crew decided to savor this once in a lifetime moment. They dropped the anchor right where they stood and absorbed the magnificent sight that laid right before them. It was a once in a lifetime event, that only a lucky few have ever experienced. They had all the luck today it seemed because one, they escaped the eruption and two, they are alive to witness this moment.
A Strange Sight Still
As the smoke from the eruption started to fade away. The crew observed something unreal peaking at them. The befuddled crew had no answers to it as well. It was a strange oddity at the surface of the water. Still vague about its form, the crew decided to wait for sometime and notice the string of alien happenings.
