“I don’t feel race played a part in all that happened Saturday night, I strongly believe they did not know we were together until the situation had already escalated,” said James, Clare’s boyfriend when asked if all this was some kind of discrimination. Before we tell you how Clare handled the whole situation, you must know Ms. Duncan’s response to the whole incident.
Volunteers’ Point Of View
Ms. Duncan said in an interview, “It was right below her butt cheeks by the time I saw her,” she further added, “It was very crowded, there were 500 kids there, so to be able to even say what they were looking at would be really difficult.” But James and Clare weren’t ready to get this so easily, however, both acted in a mature manner!
Refund Please!
“[Is] Richmond Homeschool Prom adult enough to own up to their wrong actions as well. And refund my group as they verbally promised to do, and issue an apology for kicking me out of my senior prom because their husbands felt as though my body was something they had a right to control,” is what she said next and these were straight words.
True Story
Clare was later on told by her friends that what we’ll call dirty dancing was going on the dance floor and couples were even making out on the dance floor. You can imagine how inappropriate was the dance that went on which none of the volunteers pointed out but Clare’s case was taken so seriously like she’s the only person dancing on a stage!
No Refunds!
The group of friends was told they’ll be refunded their $25 of the entry fee but that never happened. Clare even wanted a letter of apology from the board stating that it’s not her fault if their volunteers felt uncomfortable after looking at her. Clare was sure that she’s not going tolerate all this insult quietly.
Spread The Word
Clare wasn’t receiving any refund or apology from the volunteers and she wanted others to know what happened with her. She shared it on Facebook and next day on her sister’s blog and the word spread like wildfire. Now, that people got to know about it, they took it to a next level.
