Charles after his promotion was sailing the steamships. For 3 years, he was at the West African coast where he fell sick of malaria, the disease almost killed him but it wasn’t his time to leave the world rather be a part of the horrible sea disaster probably one of the deadliest till date.

Before the 18th century could end, Charles moved to the land area now. He moved to North America to participate in the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon, one of the famous searches of the century. It grabbed the attention of many people who rushed to this place from different parts of the world in search of the gold. However, very few people found the gold and were able to bring it all the way back to their homes Charles wasn’t one of them. He wasn’t disappointed even when he was returning fortune-less.

Cowboy Days

While returning from the gold rush, Charles got tempted to give being a cowboy a shot. His adventures at the horseback were way out of the league but didn’t last for long. His true place, the oceans were calling him back. And he just could not say no as it was his fate calling him. His experience was highly precious and hence he was given the offer with a promotion and increment.

Back In The City

Eventually, Charles moved back to England. This time he had an empty pocket and without any fixed job. The bad times passed quickly as he had enough experience in his field. In 1900, Charles was hired by a establish British shipping company, the White Star Line, one of the best in its field of work. With his new job role, Charles was now looking forward to a settled life which was soon about to happen.

The White Star Line’s ships used to cover distances between Britain, Australia, and North America. During one such journey, the 26 years old Charles met the love of his life, a stunning young Australian girl, Sylvia. They didn’t want to wait anymore and as soon the ship returned to England the coupled got married. Sylvia was taking care of her home and the newborns while Charles has to go for his offshore duty time to time.

A Goodbye

Charles bid a goodbye to his wife and children and headed towards the RMS Titanic. His next assigned offshore journey was about to bring him face to face with another life and death situation which of course wasn’t new for him.  But this time he couldn’t save all the lives even after putting his own life on the edge.
