Ongoing Investigation

Well, despite the evidence, it would be wrong to jump any conclusion and hold the couple responsible for them. The museum’s marketing manager, Gina Compitello-Moore confirmed said, “It’s an ongoing FBI investigation; the case is still open.”

Possibly Innocent

Not only the family but the co-worker too was stumped on hearing the couple’s any probable connection with the crim. One of Rita’s former coworkers, Mark Shay stated, “I can’t believe Rita would be involved in anything like that.”

No Idea

In defense of the deceased couple, a statement was made. The well-wisher of the couple believed that perhaps they had bought the painting from someone without being aware of its actual value. Perhaps they had no idea about the whole stealing thing. It was difficult to figure what was right or wrong as the couple was not here to prove their point.

Deny Deny Deny

Those who had a good connection with the couple continued to deny the allegations. Seeing them as a criminal mastermind was something they could not do. Not only that there is a faction of people who believe that the sketch is not of the couple.

Still A Mystery

As far as the painting is concerned, it is back to the place where it belonged namely University of Arizona Museum of Art. Though the painting is safe the institution has to raise funds to restore it to its original form after years of ignorance. The officers have not nabbed anyone so far. The mystery is still a mystery!
