Anton Yelchin took on the role of Pavel Chekov in three of the new Star Trek films. The films highlighted Pavel Chekov’s youth and the audience could get to know the character a lot better than how the 1960’s showed him. But then Pavel Chekov would not be able to return in the new Star Trek films as Anton Yelchin fell victim to a Jeep Accident in 2016 that killed him.

Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine

When the popular character Kes had to leave Voyager, there was a need for a new character that would engage the viewers. So Seven of Nine came into being. She is a previous borg turned Starfleet and was ravishing. Jeri Ryan became such a sensation that she got a Saturn Award for her performance.Her character resembled that if  Janeway’s Data or Spock.

Alexander Siddig as Dr. Julian Bashir

When Alexander Siddig auditioned for the Deep Space Nine role, he actually aimed for Captain Sisko. The producers decided that he would fit the doctor’s character because of his youth. He went on to become one of the most popular doctor characters in the Star Trek universe. His recent shows include roles on Game of Thrones.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan

Benedict Cumberbatch is indeed one of the most popular actors today. Star Trek was just an icing on the cake. Benedict plays Sherlock in the hit British series, Sherlock. His role in the Star Trek Into Darkness film was a re-introduction of the villain Khan. Their new take on the character was what people loved so much.

Marina Sirtis as Counselor Deanna Troi

Star Trek: The Next Generation gave birth to one memorable character and that is Deanna Troi. She is half Betazoid and is the head pilot who can sense other’s emotions. Her character got married to Riker in the series and was in all of the Next Generation movies. Marina also starred in NCIS and Grey’s Anatomy.

Leonard Nimoy as Spock

Leonard Nimoy took the role of Spock, making it one of the most iconic characters not just in the Star Trek series but in the whole intergalactic space genre of shows. This role was his till 2013. Beyond the Star Trek, he is an established man with two books, several movies, a few shows and stage plays under his name.He died of COPD in 2015 but his legacy continues.
