Famous for his role as Morpheus in The Matrix, one of the most high-profile actors to appear on CSI is Laurence Fishburne. During his time on the show, his character appeared in every single episode. However, after the non-renewal of his contract, the creators wrote Langston out of the show and found a replacement.

Fishburne’s fame and fortune has only strengthened, unlike some actors that leave successful shows. Since leaving CSI, Fishburne has also starred in Hannibal. When Laurence Fishburne failed to renew his contract to reprise his role as Dr. Ray Langston, his absence left a gaping hole in the show. Fans were overjoyed to hear that Ted Danson was hired to take on the role of D.B. Russell and become the new supervisor of the CSI team. For four seasons, Danson carried out his role to perfection.
