Everyone else had already gotten the Smiths a wedding anniversary present that they deserved. However, Joel their son wanted to do something extra special. He still could not decide what would be the perfect gift for his parents that he valued so much. He wished to gift them something worthwhile. So then. whatever could this be? After looking around and brainstorming, he finally decided on a gift. It was something truly thoughtful and meaningful that would certainly touch his parents’ hearts.
Something From The Past
We all love to look back at our old pictures and reminisce. We have all changed so much if we compare ourselves to our old photos. Their friends had compiled a video of the couple’s past as a gift for them too. Joe and Beverly were able to relive all of their precious moments. As everybody was smiling and enjoying their video, Joel saw something that caught his attention.
Was That It Then?
While Joel’s parents were filled with nostalgia and looking back on their times together as a couple watching the video, something that appeared there took Joel’s eyes. What was this whole other thing that Joel’s eyes were glued to? Joel even mouths the words, “oh, she was the red one”. So Joel saw this thing featured in his parents’ video and knew it would make a very meaningful gift for sure…
One From 1948
So are you curious to find out what thing red thing was yet? Well, the thing that caught Joel’s attention, that was a precious possession to them was nothing else but a “1948 Plymouth Convertible”. It was ‘the car of the times’ then. Everybody wanted to own one Plymouth Super Delux. His parents truly held this car on high grounds when they owned it. However, there was something else that made this beautiful car that made it that much more valuable…
A Special Car
Why was it so precious? Well, it turns out, this car was the Engagement Present which Joe gifted Beverly while proposing her. This car was hard to cope even then and Joe was truly lucky to be able to get one himself. It was the outcome of months of saving during school and a little help from his dear mom. His mom agreed on the condition that Joe would take care of her cheques in the years to come. He could then get the car but along the line, something terrible happened…
Parting Ways
Joe and Beverly had one of the most sought-after cars back then. This car had been through the highs and lows of their relationship too. It had been with them since they were high schoolers, as an engaged couple and as newlyweds too. However, the care could not follow them into parenthood.
