Shocking Events
In the middle of their happy marriage, this war started to intervene. Unfortunately, Joe had been called to join the military services in the U.S and he had to fly off immediately. The couple did not expect that this was going to take way longer than expected, that their time together as a couple was going to have to wait. So, for this young couple, time and distance was something they would have to deal with for awhile.
Bidding Adieu
Joe was undergoing his training in the military camp. It was clear that he needed to join the war in Korea. The two of them were preparing themselves for dear Joe’s departure. So although he dreaded it, Joe had to leave Beverly behind in the city. Their troubles had just begun and this was only the start. The couple had to sell off so many of their precious possessions. There was one thing that they had to sell which held a deep sentimental value to them…
Long-Distance Marriage
So the couple had to live with a “long-distance marriage and not a long-distance relationship”. The only means for the two to stay in touch was using letters and telegrams. Joe and Beverly would frequently send each other letters stating their good wishes and love for one another. The two would often send each other photographs too, reminiscing the good times they had in the past. Such a cute couple isn’t they?
Their Story
After months of being away from each other, the two could finally reunite once again. Joe and Beverly were now able to get back to the life they had planned on building together. Joe landed safe and sound in America after fighting in the war. Joe and Beverly were now set on making a family. they went on to have a few kids who grew up to be responsible adults. Their kids were raised right and learned about love first-hand from their parents. They truly were a couple to look up to…
Celebrating
So a time came for the Smiths to celebrate. But what was the occasion? Well, it was Joe and Beverly’s 60th wedding Anniversary. So this called for a huge celebration. Their children and grandchildren were the party planners who wanted to celebrate the life and love the couple has shared for all these years. The couple was absolutely unsuspecting of the bigger surprise that awaited them on their special day.
