Amazed By Words

The boys were so well mannered that the soldiers could not stop praising them. In a media report, they say, “The boys were so respectful. To all the questions all they had to say was, Yes Sir, No Sir.” Risdon even says that “whosoever has brought them up, has really done a great work”.

The Dedication

The little 9-year old boy left everyone amazed by his knowledge about the army. He recognized Risdon’s uniform and could instantly tell that he belonged to the army officials. He further says that he is very fond of the soldiers and the work they do for the nation is commendable. Any length of praise is not enough to mark the respect for them.

Saluting- Right Way

The boy kept saluting the army officer. Even, Risdon in his years of career as a soldier never saw a boy that humble and loyal. Risdon had nothing to say except for smiling at the boy. He felt a little uncomfortable to mistake such kind souls to be something of terror. But he knew what he was supposed to do for them now.

More Than Food

Not only did he buy them food but also taught the young boy how to salute in the right manner. The little boy was holding a taco in his right hand and was saluting at the officer with his left hand. However, the hand which is primarily used for saluting is the right one. Risdon told the boy the ethics of saluting so that he might use that in future if he ever turns into this profession.

Faithful Beings

Risdon and Gibson were not even over yet with the boys innocent and simple nature, that they did something more surprising. The boys called their grandfather and made him talk to Risdon. They made sure that the soldier informs him that it was he who paid for their food and the boys did not spend the money they raised for the church.

My Kids

Later in an interview, Risdon told the media that when he saw those two hungry souls, all he could think of were his kids. He further said that just imagining his kids in their situation brought tears to him. So the least he could do for those boys was buying some food.
