Xuewei gave her grandfather a very dapper suit for him to put on. So in the meantime, she also donned on a beautiful white bridal gown. The photo shoot as she had planned was actually a wedding-themed one. “My grandfather would be the one to give me away at my wedding,” Xuewei later revealed. She wanted to experience the feeling of being given away by the man who raised her.
A Meaningful Day
Xuewei had been planning this surprise for quite a while now and made sure that her granddad who had been bed-ridden for some time, did not have a clue about it. “Because I don’t know if he could live long enough to see that, I wanted to make sure he could do that now,” she explained. It was indeed a very meaningful day that the two thoroughly enjoyed.
The Best Gift Ever
The photo shoot was not all that took place on that day. Besides the studio photos, Xuewei and Mr. Fu also spared some time to take pictures in a small church. They even had time to switch into different outfits when they clicked photos in the church. This surprise for her granddad cost Xuewei about 3000 yuan ($476), but this did not matter as long as Mr. Fu was happy.
Another Surprise Up Her Sleeve
The most important thing for Xuewei now was to see her grandfather’s smile. She did not want to see him think about his illness nor did she want to focus her mind on that. She just wanted him to have a very positive time as doctors predicted that he might pass soon. The big smile he wore when he saw Xuewei meant the world to her. He meant so much to her that she decided to immortalize him.
Kept On A Permanent Place
Xuewei found a way to keep her grandfather next to her for as long as she lived. She made a decision to get a tattoo of Mr. Fu’s image on her arm. “I had my grandfather’s portrait tattooed on my arm in January because I want my new friends and my children to be able to know what he looks like in the future,” she revealed. This was a smart way of keeping him close to her forever.

After the story got the attention of the press and media, everyone wanted to know more about them. The pictures from the photo shoot then went viral in China.
