The court found Rocco’s former owner along with the roommate, guilty of mistreatment of animals. They were fined $1,500. And even though it didn’t assure the payment of Rocco’s medical bills, Kelly didn’t care. She was just grateful that justice had prevailed for Rocco and that he was no longer in an abusive environment.
On the road to recovery
It was all worth it
Kelly was informed by the vet that it would take two months for Rocco’s injury to be completely healed. Until then, Kelly was going to be responsible for keeping his bandages clean and making sure that the wound would not get infected again. The process would be painful for Rocco, with a lot of work on Kelly’s part, but it was all worth it.
Continual updates
Kelly continually updated Rocco’s path to healing on her Facebook page. It was a slow and steady path for Rocco. But that did not stop him from indulging in his newly found brother and owner. Rocco would be often seen basking leisurely in bed on Kelly’s Facebook posts.
He experienced freedom and happiness
Rocco got to experience all the love and happiness he had missed out on earlier on in his life. With a loving owner and her family, Rocco would never feel neglected and go through the abuse he had to face by the hands of his former owner.
He was completely healed
Rocco eventually got the surgery he needed, which healed up perfectly. The pain that they had to go through was finally behind them and they were finally able to enjoy their new life together.
