Mackenzie Phillips – Then
Phillips at just 12 years old appeared in the hit American Graffiti. Starring as Julie Cooper on the hit TV series “One Day at a Time” her success continued. But then she got fired in 1980 due to her drug and alcohol habits. She has battled her addiction and has collapsed several times affecting her health and career.
Mackenzie Phillips – Now
After checking out of rehab in 1992, her first role came in 1999 starring alongside Cara DeLizia in the Disney Channel series “So Weird,” with the character Molly Phillips. She has had a string of guest appearances on shows like “ER,” “Without a Trace,” “7th Heaven,” and “Cold Case.” She put her past to good use becoming a counselor at the Breathe Life Healing Center in West Hollywood, California.
Kristy McNichol – Then
McNichol initially had minor roles on shows like “Love American Style,” “The Love Boat”, “The Bionic Woman,” and “Starsky & Hutch”. She was then cast as Patricia Apple in the live scripted show “Apple’s Way.” Her role in “Family” managed to get her 2 Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series.
Kristy McNichol – Now
Kristy then starred in Little Darlings with costars like Tatum O’Neal, Matt Dillon, and Cynthia Dixon. She also joined Mark Hamill and Dennis Quaid in The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia. After her acting days came to a halt, she now voices characters on shows like “Extreme Ghostbusters” and “Invasion America.”
Adam Rich – Then
Adam Rich will forever be Nicholas Bradford, who is the youngest member of the family in “Eight Is Enough” which aired from 1977–1981. He was given the nickname “America’s little brother” and popularized the bowl haircut. He left showbiz in the 80s due to personal reasons.
Adam Rich – Now
Adam Rich went through many legal and personal problems after the show as he was very much into drugs at that point. In 1991 the police arrested him after he attempted to burglarize a pharmacy. He was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in 2001. He is currently looking for shows and movie roles.
