Karen Carpenter – Then
Karen Anne Carpenter won over America as a musician who played the drums and sang. Her compelling voice earned her some of the biggest hits during the 1970s. She was in a band with her dear brother Richard. In 1970 her album “Close to You,” she managed to score 2 huge hits “(They Long to Be) Close to You” and “We’ve Only Just Begun.” They were both ranked no 1 and 2 on the Billboard charts.
Karen Carpenter Passed Away In 1983
Karen Carpenter met with an untimely death by the age of 32 in the year 1983. She fainted at her parent’s home and had to be rushed to the Downey Community Hospital. Since she was a victim of anorexia nervosa, which is a disorder caused by compulsive dieting, Karen died of cardiac arrest. Her illness caused The Carpenters to have to cancel a 1975 performance for Queens Elizabeth plus their shows in Europe and the Orient.
Barry Williams – Then
Barry Williams was only 14-years-old when he was cast to be Greg Brady, who is the eldest son on the celebrated show “The Brady Bunch.” After appearing on the show, he aged a bit and very soon he became the object of affection for millions of girls across the United States. He was also a talented singer who had four albums with his famous TV siblings cementing his star power.

Back in 1989, he received the Young Artist Foundation Former Child Star Lifetime Achievement Award. He also received an honor in 1992 after the release of his autobiography Growing Up Brady … I Was A Teenage Greg, that was a best seller for 3 whole months. His book was adapted into a TV movie in 2001 that he was an executive producer too. He also appeared on shows like the “Brady Bunch” specials, “That 70’s Show,” and “Three’s Company,” to name a few.
Maureen McCormick – Then
Maureen McCormick will forever be remembered as Marcia Brady on the hit series “The Brady Bunch” that aired from 1969 to 1974. Marcia was the eldest sister among the Brady girls. She played the role of Marcia who was a beautiful, smart popular girl both in school and at home. Her main interests were politics and her physical and public appearance. Maureen took the role at just 12 years old.
Maureen McCormick – Now
Maureen McCormick tied the knot with Michael Cummings back in 1985 and had their first daughter Natalie who was born in 1989. McCormick had to go through a tough time after battling her drug addiction after her popular TV series ended. She later got over her addiction. She then not only starred in but actually won the competition show “VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club” in 2007.
