What comes to your mind when you hear the word ’70s’? There were a lot of things that made the era iconic such as lingos like “groovy” and “far out”. And who could forget the big hair, the bell bottom pants and not to mention the funky boots? The 1970s was a time when there were no such things as DVR and Netflix, a time where the graphic designs were all loud and heavy. Even a small activity like watching the television was a family affair. It was truly a different time where every family used to watched the top shows including “The Brady Bunch,” “Happy Days,” “Good Times,” or “What’s Happening”. We all loved these shows for the characters that they brought and among them, the children were all the more lovable. This list brings to you the child stars of the 70s and what they look like now. You would be more than surprised to see what some of these former Hollywood child stars are up to nowadays.
David Cassidy – Then
We all know and remember David as he took on the role as Keith Partridge on the television show “The Partridge Family.” On the show, Keith was the lead singer for the family band and he melted many young women’s hearts. The producers revealed later that he was hired for the role on the sole basis of his irresistible looks. They even went on further saying that they did not care if he was capable of singing or not.
David Cassidy – Now
Do you think it all worked out for him years later? When the producers were convinced by David that he had talent in singing, David and “The Partridge Family” went on to produce 10 albums together. All of their albums sold over a million copies each so it was evident that David would now be a bonafide superstar. Just last year on November 21, 2017, due to multiple complications and liver failure, David Cassidy was pronounced dead.
Helen Hunt – Then
When we look at how young Helen was when she started off, it seems a little unbelievable. Helen Hunt has been in the limelight ever since she was just 8 years old; you could say she has been under the spotlight all her life. She found success in television shows and movies like “Amy Prentiss” (1974-75), “Swiss Family Robinson” (1975-76), and “The Fitzpatricks” (1977-78), and the movie Rollercoaster in 1977.
Helen Hunt – Now
Even after all these years, it is quite clear that the audience is still not tired of seeing Helen as she can still be seen on TV and movies.Ther best moments in her acting career includes her Oscar-winning performance in As Good As It Gets and a hit comedy in 2014 called Ride. She actually witnessed the 9/11 attack from her rooftop and had to fly out of New York to Connecticut to stay safe.
The Jacksons – Then
When the brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, Michael, and Tito joined forces to create the group “Jackson Five”, they were unstoppable. Their first songs namely, “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There” all went to the number 1 spot on the Billboard charts. They achieved this historical feat in just nine months where “I’ll Be There” was number 1 for 5 long weeks.
The Jacksons – Now
In 2011 all of the brothers joined forces once again to celebrate their superstar brother Michael Jackson’s solo career. They went on their Unity Tour and even performed some of Michael’s songs and obviously their hit songs in the 70s as well. Randy decided to retire some time back and has stopped doing music. However, the rest of his brothers are still touring and performing all over the globe.
