A Gray Wolf

Kekoa and Sakara are siblings who both live at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. These two were actually born in Florida and but were shifted to the Colorado location when they were still infants. The center felt like the wolves would be a good addition to their sanctuary. Darlene Kobobel established this center all the way back in 1993. Darlene has since dedicated her life to save this species. The center is quite vast. It occupies 35-acres and is filled with many interesting features. The center consists of a visitors’ center, an amphitheater for educational use and several hiking trails. Wolves roam about the area in abundance as well.

Educational Tools

So as soon as Kekoa and his sister arrived at the sanctuary, it is clear that Darlene was extremely excited. Her wish was to hopefully use the two of them as ambassadors in helping to educate its visitors. The wolves had, however, already planned something else.“They were both adopted from a facility in Florida called Seacrest Wolf Preserve,” Michelle Smith, w worker at the center told interviewers. “We had hoped they would be ambassadors. But sadly, like most wolves and high-content wolf dogs, once they reached maturity they became very shy.

Strong Bond

“I have always had a passion for nature and animals,” Danielle explains. “These wolves have my heart and I am honored to have been accepted into their pack.” Danielle became very close to these wolves and shares a strong connection with them. Danielle shares the closest of bond with none other than Kekoa the wolf.

Video Footage

This connection shared between Danielle and Kekoa surprised everyone. In fact, Danielle became the only person that Kekoa would allow to get close to him. There was a video of these two playing around which truly amazed many people who saw it.

Surrendering

The footage shows Danielle approaching the two wolf siblings Kekoa and Sakara. In the snow-laden area, the video shows Danielle as she leans down and gets face-to-face with the wolves. Sakara then starts sniffing her face and get closer. Soon Kekoa settles down and lays on his back. Danielle showers him with love and pets his belly. These two look like a human and a dog playing around. It is easy to forget that Kekoa is a wolf.
