Prayers Answered
The Rocket Dog Rescue Facebook post was circulating for a while now. Eventually, they found a family from San Jose who absolutely loved the dog pair. The family went to meet Merrill and Taco in Jodi’s place. They fell in love with them and now the dogs finally found a forever home.
Not Out Of The Woods Yet
Taco is an old age dog that has four little teeth and a floppy tongue. He had health issues regarding his teeth. His previous owner did not look into his dental health issue at all. The San Jose family knew all these problems but was still willing to adopt him. When they reached home, they found that his health was no laughing matter.
A Trip to the Vet
The family took Taco to the veterinarian doctor after one month of adopting him. Since he was old, the family did not take his health lightly. They were in for a very sad news. The vets ran some test on the frail dog and discovered that he had an enlarged heart plus fluids on his lungs. It was not looking to bright for Taco.
The Vet’s Verdict
His heart was failing and so the family had to act quick. The dog was soon under medication and the family set up an appointment to see a specialist. The family knew that they had to stay positive and keep a strong face for Merrill as well. This was all they could do at this point.
A Fighting Chance
The family showered Taco with attention, love, and care. Since he was quite old, the family did not have too much hope for the dog to survive. They showed full support and was giving him an opportunity to fight for his life. Merrill wanted to show that she cared for Taco just like he did when she was in recovery.
The Brave Chihuahua
It was miraculous for Taco who started to show signs of recovery. It must be the love and support that his family was backing him up with. The specialist provided him with an anti-seizure medication and steroids to treat the fluid in his lungs. His heart began to stabilize as well and soon healed completely.
