Tiny House For Engaged Couple
Meet these two locals from Santa Rosa, California. Bree Rathburn and Kieran Murphy after getting engaged did not want to waste time planning their future. They had a lot to do and they knew they would have to really use their money judiciously. They were going to have to save money for their wedding because they decided on spending their honeymoon in Greece.
A Place To Put It
Since they had to do something about their money situation, they took an alternative solution. They decided to build a tiny home to live in. They completed their home with $21,000. Rathburn designed the home and they had to spend 18 months to build it. The millennial couple are still looking to place their fully-functioning home in a place where Murphy can start his vineyard and wine label.
Quite Plush Inside
Weber was not professionally trained so he was not well-equipped to plan out the plumbing or woodwork when he decided to head the project. He had to train himself as an apprentice under a carpenter and plumber while still going to school full-time. He had to read several books about architecture so that he did not make any grave mistakes.
A Little More Stylish
In the end, his efforts proved to be fruitful as the tiny was compared to a dorm room became way more stylish. He made the seating with wood scraps that had been donated by the people he lived with before finishing his home. He wanted to incorporate the house he was living in the past in his new tiny house. “That’s how their homes live on with me,” he revealed.
Google Software Engineer Lives In A Truck
Back in May of 2015, 23-year-old Brandon (this is a pseudonym to avoid getting into trouble) was given the job as a software engineer for Google. Everyone knows how hard and prestigious it is to get to be in that position. He had to live in s 128-square foot Ford box truck, that was parked in Google’s campus parking lot near his place of work.
Previous Expenses
Brandon bought this truck in 2006 and had 157,000 miles on it during the time he bought it for $10,000.The only extra expense he needs to deal with is the $121 that he pays for the car insurance. He was spending about $2,000 just to live in Google’s cheapest employee housing. Even that had to be shared a room with another employee.
