Ben Mendelsohn
On top of the most successful actors in the world of Australian Tv shows is quite possibly Ben Mendelsohn. For two years between 1986 and 1987, this actor played the role of Warren Murph. But only during those 19 episodes, his talent was identified and he left this blockbuster show just to join The Year My Voice Broke’s cast. This is where he achieved a ton of fame and wealth. Ever since that day he has continued to impress both critics and fans alike.
Alan Fletcher
One could imagine a name like Alan Fletcher could belong to a character on a soap opera, but in this case, this was the name of the actor playing the role of Karl Kennedy who won the hearts of his fans world over. This character is second to only Paul Robinson in term of screen time on the show and for good reason. He has spent over 3 decades on this show. But he also starred in American show Days of our Lives.
Krista Vendy
Regardless of sporting a free-for-all hairstyle back in the days, Krista Vendy was cast to play the role of a school teacher who goes by the name of Teresa Bell. She was the neat freak on the Neighbours, teaching English in Edinborough. It was shown that she loved her job and her husband equally, but that sounds too good for a soap opera and so she has left the show and only sticks with making random guest appearances. Now you can watch her perform in Shock Jock and Pizza.
Dean Geyer
Blessed by the lord almighty that this character got rid of her punk-ish hairstyle and started dressing like a true gentleman because we for one really love watching this all grown up Dean Geyer. HE played the role of Ty Hyper on the show. And yes it’s the same guy who used to follow Margot Robbie’s character absolutely shamelessly. He was also one of the most popular contestants to have auditioned on Australian Idol.
Moya O’Sullivan
Moya O’Sullivan was born in 1924 but she began her acting career all the way in 1960’s. As a result, she doesn’t have a huge list of movie or tv shows on her resume. But she has performed some of the most critical roles in her lifetime which includes the one of Marlene Kratz. Kratz along with her estranged daughter moved into the town of Cheryl together. And have been around for over 3 years. Since her role in Neighbours, she has worked in All Saints and other great Aussie hits.
Blair McDonough
On the show Neighbours, The character of Stuart Packer was shown to be the jack of all trades, form hopping jobs to changing girlfriends he has been seen doing it all. But that’s the world of soap opera. And kudos to Blair McDonough for being able to act out the role in the incredible way he did. In real life, he is a happily married man and an active father.
