Her Father’s Advice
Bindi had actually credited her father saying that he had taught her a very valuable lesson in dealing with animals. Since he was always so compassionate and caring towards animals, he was rarely attacked or harmed. She reveals that his attitude rubbed off on her and now she had become kind plus gentle with animals and so have they.
Love and Respect
She also revealed that it is important to love and respect animals. She says that it doesn’t matter if it is a crocodile or a dog, giving affection to animals is something that always proves to be rewarding in the end. She says that it is this mentality that has allowed her to become so close to animals and have shared a bond with many different types of animals.
Loving Them
“When [Irwin] was working with venomous snakes or cheetahs, he just treated them in a [certain] way. It was never trying to overpower them or anything like that. He was just loving them,” Bindi recalls as she talks about her dad’s gentle approach to wild animals. It is clear from this family’s adventures that being subtle with wild animals works well.
Appreciating Animals
She added that it is important to appreciate their physical beauty as well, telling interviews, “And he was teaching other people about how beautiful they are.” She says that her dad’s treatment of wild animals taught her many lessons. She claims that what little amount of love and kindness that she has gained, is only because she learned it through her dad’s ways.
Brilliant Thinking
When asked what is one of the most important messages she wants to send across to people. Bindi replies, “Telling people how to respect snakes and respect crocodiles and to love them.” It is clear that her adoration for these deadly animals is on the same level as pets like dogs or cats. She believes in sharing an equal amount of love and respect for all types of animals.
A Kind Attitude
She also believes that if you go about showing love and respect to animals like snakes and other reptiles, you are doing something good in the world. “And I think if you go about it with that kind of attitude, it’s brilliant,” she affirms. We should all follow Bindi’s footsteps and stop segregating animals so that we all get along and live harmoniously with each other.
