Another Experience
Another member named Mike Brewin shared his experience which was a little melancholic. He said, “you’re looking out across the local area for miles and miles, and you see the extent of human interaction with the environment, the amount of deforestation that has gone on.” Continuing in the same tone he added, “and you know that 50, 60, 70 years ago, it would have just been pristine… woodland. There’s sadness as well that you feel because you know it’s changed.”
Unique
One reason for having a different kind of species is the barrier that separates the forest from the rest of the world. The flora and fauna found there never got a chance to interact with the species that are exterior of the forest, as a result, new species were recorded from that area by the scientists.
Lovely Butterfly
Along with being a scientist, Bayliss has a keen interest in the study of butterflies. While he was exploring the forest of Lico, he encountered a new type of butterfly. “I got a new species of butterfly from Lico, which is lovely,” was what he shared with The Verge.
The Stream
Scientists noticed that along with a course of stream cut through the forest, several objects were flowing. They concluded that unlike plants and animals present in the forest, the objects were not natural. They decided that they would dig deeper into the matter.
Residents?
The conformity on the forest being unexplored was being stumbled when the team while exploring came across antique manmade pots. The scientists thought that they were the first to land upon the hidden land but the objects found there is making them a little worried.
German Colonizers
The team analyzed the pots and as soon as they returned from their journey, they interviewed some of the inhabitants of the area. Many people claimed that nobody intruded on the top of the Mount Lico, but other people had their own say in that matter. According to them, German colonizers amid the First World War had come to the area.
