Not A Hurricane
A hurricane is an atmospheric process that involves a low-pressure center and a closed-level atmospheric circulation that results in strong winds, and a spiral pattern of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain and thunders. Although, there were geologists at that very moment when this unnatural event was taking place even they had no idea what in the world was happening.
The Explanation
Later, the geologists realized that the pit from which the warm air started rising which mixed up with extreme cold climate of Siberia that produced a gigantic air vortex. The Soviet Officials were in huge confusion as they were struggling with an event on which they had no control. The WWII was far from over but in Siberia, the war was still on…
After The Event
When everything was settled down and things started to ease down the sight was astonishing. They were actually staring at a huge hold which measures 3,900 feet in diameter and 1,722 feet in depth. To see it from their own eyes they took trucks deep down and reached at the bottom of the pit in 2 hours.
Finally, It Happened
Everything was still and people were able to breathe. In their hearts, they know they are safe and the danger is in the past now. In 1960, Russia opened its official and largest mineral mine in history, the Mir Mine. They finally were able to achieve what they came here for in the first place.
The Mir Mine
The Mir Mine was a gem in modern engineering. It ranked second in terms of the largest man-made hole in the world. People talked about this new man-made miracle all around the globe. Did you know? The pit was so deep that you can actually fit five Statues of Liberty piled on top of each other.
Turned Out To Be Fruitful
Though the process of making the world’s second largest mine was tough and deadly, still, things turned out in the country’s best interest. Because of the Mir Mine, the Russian economy began to reap the fruits from the seed they sow in all the difficulties. By the end of the 1960s, the mine was manufacturing 10,000,00 carats of diamonds annually. The stone polishers were working hard as these weren’t some ordinary diamonds…
