After a very short encounter, Wayne hurried home to get his car. After a month of being lonely Julep was finally going to get a new home. It was truly touching.
A Tough Goodbye
John Tolley is an employee at Humane Rescue Alliance, and revealed that everyone present shed a tear or too that day. “We see a lot of happy endings and try not to get too emotional. But the combination of her age and Wayne’s obvious adoration for his new ‘old lady’ left us in tears.”
Finally A New Home
Julep’s name was changed as soon as she reached her new home. Wayne decided to call her Tootie, which was his grandmother’s nickname. Tootie felt comfortable very quickly.
Getting Over The Past
Wayne expressed that meeting Julep definitely helped him get through Jasmine’s death. He says that he met the right dog at the right time. Tootie appeared at the exact moment he needed her.
New Attitude
Tootie is an old dog so Wayne made sure to spend every day very special with her. “I know she’s not going to be around for very long, but that’s okay. She deserves to live out the rest of her life in a loving home with somebody who’s going to take care of her and pamper her and make sure that she enjoys the last bit of life she has.”
Senior Pups Need Affection
Tootie has a very happy ending for herself but then it is never really the same case for other senior dogs. Many old dogs are neglected and ignored because of their age but that does not mean that they do not need love and care.
