German Shepherds NowThe modern German Shepherd has lost that agility and sleekness they used to have a century ago. One reason for this is that they are no more bred for the purpose of sheepdogs. It has a distended stomach and rounded chest. It has a very clumsy gait and a sloping back and a very big size. This breed is predisposed to hip and elbow dysplasia and degenerative myelopathy. Myelopathy is an inherited neurological condition that leads to the breaking of communication between the dog’s brain and its hind limbs. Despite all this shortcoming, the German Shepherd is still one of the popular dogs among the people.

Pug: Then

Pugs ThenIn China, pugs were famous for their royal lifestyle, this breed used to have their own quarters served by guards. The popularity of Pugs reached Europe in the sixteenth century, Europeans got fascinated toward pugs. Not just that, Queen Victoria of Europe took immense interest in pugs breeding to have a large population of pugs in her country. Pugs were not used for entertainment purpose only in Italy they were used for carriage vehicle ride on the streets, drivers dressed them like they used to dress. Pug have got the acceptance of American Kennel Club from an early time.

Pugs NowFrom there on, Pugs underwent many changes. One reason for this is that the breed has crossed with many other breeds, usually the smaller terriers. This is why they have their signature brachycephalic snout. Once a Chinese purebred, it paved the way for several problems.  The cute snout of there poses many health problems to them such as breathing difficulty, high blood pressure, low oxygen intake and jaw and tooth disease and incapability to regulate body heat. They are also vulnerable to dermatitis and paralysis. Encephalitis or PDE is the most dangerous disease Pugs gets affected by. Surprisingly, the Pug is the only breed that gets struck by it.Encephalitis causes inflammation of mind.

Saluki: Then

Salukis ThenSalukis are considered a holy gift of god they are one of the oldest breed and unique dogs. The uniqueness comes from their physical appearance. They are very lean and skinny like a supermodel that also help them to be fast and have a good speed. One thing more, they cannot be trusted even by their leash because of their naughtiness and sometimes could be very difficult to train. But their selfish behavior does not imply that they are difficult to maintain, in fact, they are very affectionate and are devoted to their owner.

Salukis NowThe first big change that has come is that they are not considered the holy gift. Except that they still have the appearance of a supermodel that means they still own a lean and skinny body. Talking about their behavior, they continue to stay very friendly with adult kids and other dogs. They are very much devoted to their owners. But it doesn’t mean that they have no negative aspect, despite their affectionate nature they still pose problems for them to train them smoothly. That is the reason they should be kept on a leash while taking them out for a walk.   

White Terrier: Then

White Terriers ThenThis breed is widely known for their self-confidence. You will not be able to put down on this breed as they possess a great deal of self-esteem. That is the reason they for the last century enjoys so much popularity among the people. The most commonly found among them is West Highland White Terrier. They were originated in Scotland primarily for hunting and ratling. They also were used for search-and-rescue help. The breed is prompt enough to catch the fast-pacing animals putting it on the list of the fastest breed of dogs 100 years ago. Now, many drastic changes can be seen in this breed.
