The Fireplace
The most confusing and strange thing about the mansion is how hurriedly the owners left the place. The fireplace has a gothic aesthetic with its dark wall and carpet. The family who lived here in the 70s were modern and owned two televisions. The place seems to be littered with chairs, which must have been brought in at various points in time.
A Player Piano
Player piano was a flop when it was introduced in the markets in 1924. By 1929, almost its entire production was wiped out of the market. In 2018, they are a rare sight and even in the 1970s, they weren’t really popular. The piano required electrical amplification and at the time it was introduced it was not exactly feasible. This mansion owners did seem to have electrical amplification and this piano could as well have been an heirloom passed down through generations.
Why The Owners Left?
The picture shows that there was some construction undergoing in the house. If the last owners were going bankrupt they must have thought of selling the house, but some circumstances led to leaving this midway. Maybe they thought it just wasn’t worth it or they died or had to leave before they saw the completion.
