Ricky’s Plea
So recently, when Gervais was on a tour to promote his new film David Brent: Life On The Road, at the Good Morning America show, the actor used his opportunity to make a heartfelt plea for someone to adopt the shelter dog, Bear.
Chained For 15 Years
Bear had spent 15 years chained up in a shelter home located in a Suffolk County, New York. Bear was trying his absolute best to survive harsh winters with little to no care at all, and a call to the animal rescue group Guardians of Rescue helped him find freedom.
Not Leaving Until He Gets Adopted
“I was here to talk about that but I’ve just discovered there’s a dog needs adopting, so I’d rather use my segment to get him adopted,” Gervais explained as he played with the ears of the recently rescued Chow and Labrador Retriever mix. “I’m not leaving until we get a phone call this guy’s adopted. He was chained up for 15 years.”
Adopt And Change Their Lives
The producers had asked the viewers to tweet them or message them on twitter if interested in adopting Bear. “Give him a life. He’s so loving but he’s had no life. Give him two years’ bucket list. Give him love.” In a happy turn of events, Gervais recently posted a selfie of him and the rescue hound announcing that Bear had been successfully adopted!
So as we have read about such ordeal that shelter dogs go through. If at any point in time you feel you can rescue any dog, even just one, it would mean the whole world to them. So, why not adopt and better the living conditions of a dog in need?
