The Time Capsule
Realtors Gladys and Carla felt like winning a lottery without even buying a ticket. This wonder of place would definitely fill their pockets, but there’s more to it than just the money. The place had been well conserved and safeguarded and taking a walk through the home felt like grabbing the seat of a time travel ride taking you back to the 1940s, the time when Joyce moved into this one heck of a place. From the wallpapers to the furniture, the decors, and the theme and what not, every little thing about this place added up to make it unique and desirable.
More Than Four Walls
With every room they visited, it only outshone the previous one. Even Carla and Gladys had never seen a house as pristine in their 30 years of real estate career. The place was a time portal or say a small fragment of the history that Joyce had preserved and fostered with her love and care. Now it made sense to Carla and Gladys as to why Joyce came across as hesitant over the phone call. She had spent nearly 70 years in that place and had tens and hundreds of memories that existed under the walls of 148 Jane Street and it was natural for her to sound nervous. However, there was a drawback to this exceptional property that might push away a particular segment of the potential buyers. Read further to find out what it was…
The Interior Design
The only drawback that struck to Carla and Gladys could think of was that the entire house was furnished and decorated in a conventional feminine fashion. Something that could push away the male buyers unless one plans to redecorate the entire place. But doing so would cost a handsome amount of money and would demand a lot of time to undertake such a strenuous task. While most of the house wore pink, gold and purple, there was a room that stood out from the rest.
An Acquired Taste
The most marvelous room was situated in the basement acquainted with a mini bar, exquisite wood panels and lavishing furniture. The basement was quite spacious and perfect for a get-together with family and friends. It used to be Joyce’s husband’s favorite spot to hang out on sports night with his friends or he would seldom spend some time alone there. This room was the only place in Joyce’s home that had a unique look, unlike all the floral and feminine pattern theme which was spread throughout the walls of the home, the basement had a different yet classy look.
The Backyard
In comparison, the backyard was a bit of a letdown and was not at all eye-catching. It was simply ordinary. The only visible greenery was the artificial grass spread over the ground and it was apparent that not much thought was put into the backyard of the property. But it wouldn’t affect things much as Carla and Gladys were confident about selling this piece of modern history at a high price. As historic, exquisite or eye-catching the place was, there are things that the naked eye can’t see. There are flaws that may go unnoticed and to assure that the house was as good as it looked it was time to call the verification officer.
The Inspection
You can’t let the looks deceive you. No matter how appealing the home was to the eyes on the surface, it could still be flawed to the very roots. But Carla and Gladys were no rookies and they knew their new project would make the cut. Although the homeowner Joyce and the realtor duo were confident, there’s no bad in eliminating the doubts. The inspector’s revelation would surprise them once he sumps up the report.
