Finally Completed

Image: Jan Hennop/After completion, the new ark stood at whopping 430 feet long, 100 feet wide and 75 feet high. It was a modern-day marvel with a historical essence. Huibers followed the Biblical blueprint to its intricate detail. Indeed, he converted cubits into modern measurements.

Enormous Size!

Image: Jan Hennop/Apart from a lot of hard work and skill, the mammoth task of creating a flood-proof, live-in ark called for a lot of materials. The finished product, then, weighs in at 2,500 tons, with the ark boasting five decks.Without any doubt, it can be compared to a cruise ship.

Devoted Himself

Image: Michel Porro/It would be very ironical to say that, Huibers wasn’t afraid to put some hard graft in himself, as eventually, he was a carpenter. He was a son of a carpenter and was acquainted with such kind of work from a very small age. Needless to say, just like the lord and Saviour himself.

Welcomed Everyone

Image: Michel Porro/The construction of the ark got completed in 2012. Obviously, it was so big in size that it could hold 5,000 people on board. Huibers was more than happy to invite anyone who liked to visit and witness the magnificent creation. But, he had also planned another surprise for the visitors.

Extremely Strong

Image: Michel Porro/Huibers combined the metal hulls of a few old barges to create his ark, before cladding it with Scandinavian pine wood. By adding such reinforcements to the boat, it became mightier than that in the Bible. Now, it was more than capable of surviving any floods.

A Place Of Education

Image: Ark of NoahBeing a religious man to the core, his main objective was to spread the good word of the Lord from the very beginning. He had thought of something amazing to fill up the vast space on the boat, so that people and the children visiting his ark could learn more about the bible.
