She was watching the old woman for a long time and wondered if she needed any kind of assistance. She saw Julie shaking. She suspected if it was a medical emergency and worryingly asked Julie if everything was right. “The glove!” Julie replied.
Backstory
Well, Julie’s answer took Rounds all by surprise. She asked her to clarify it. Julie told her everything related to the gloves and how much her son adored it. The woman narrated it all with tears in her eyes. When Julie was done with her story one could easily tell Rounds was stunned too. Rounds did not shy away from expressing her astonishment.
Unbelievable
Julie expressed, “I began sharing the story with everybody, starting with the clerks in the store. No one can believe it. It’s been a whirlwind experience. We’re coming (back) to Willoughby Oct. 1 and we’ll get to Columbus to see Chris and reunite him with his glove.”
Left It
Julie still could not believe that she had actually found the mitt. Something that was lost 40 years ago was finally found in a thrift store about 1,000 miles away. The woman still did not know how Chris lost his favorite baseball glove.
At The Park
She explained, “At the end of the game, they presented trophies and had a big hullabaloo.” “He must have left his mitt at the ballpark,” Julie said. She was going to ask him everything once reaching his home.
Surprise
She added further, “We don’t remember him losing it then.” “I do know he’d set it down while celebrating. Imagine my surprise, my shock, actually, that Wednesday morning not even a month ago. I looked down at a bottom shelf at Goodwill in Jupiter, Florida, and I couldn’t believe it.”
