Loved It

“I’m an emotional guy to begin with. I was upset when I lost it and remember riding my bike back down to the field, but it was gone. I loved that glove. I felt like Superman with it — I could catch anything.” The glove was gone and he knew he was never going to get it back.

The Old Thing

He further stated. “When my mom texted me, I knew it. I knew how I drew my L’s so I instantly recognized the handwriting. And she’s right; it doesn’t look a whole lot worse. Wherever it’s been, it’s been taken care of quite well.”

Special

Christopher recalled “We just finished an All Star tournament and after the last game when they were handing out trophies sitting down there. And I went back the next day, it was gone. That glove, you could do anything, catch any ball. It didn’t matter. When you’re a kid, that glove is special to you.”

That’s My Glove

The man was extremely happy. “It takes you back to that moment when you were a kid and thinking about what was going on in that time of your life and you feel it in your eyes. I remember writing my handwriting on the thumb my mom wrote the inside but I wrote it on the thumb because that’s my glove,” Christopher revealed.

Felt Bad

When he lost the glove he felt really bad not because it was his favorite but because his father had bought it for him. “I felt bad for a lot of reasons because I knew my parents worked hard to get me what I have and my dad was a teacher and my mom stayed at home until she went back to teaching. So, any possessions I had mattered to me because I knew how hard they were to come by.”

Help Coming

Julie was rooted to her spot. She knew it was her son’s glove but could not figure out what to do next. It was then she saw Sue Rounds coming towards her. Rounds worked in a local store as a clerk who was also associated with a charity store. But what she was going to confront today was something she had not imagined ever.
