The kids were happy and so were the parents. Now just one teacher would do the job of teaching their kids how to play the piano. For some time, this piano became the center of attraction of their house. At least one of the four kids was practicing and trying to be an expert pianist. However, this charm will soon fade away.
Recalling Those Days…
“Not long after we moved to Saffron Walden in 1983, we asked a friend of ours if he could keep an eye out for a second-hand piano which we purchase for the use of our four children Sam, Will, Ben, and Jessica. The rather attractive Broadwood piano arrived complete with two candlestick holders and the three boys, in particular, played it for the next 20 years,” recalled Graham and Meg who now had nothing in their hands. Thinking of what might have happened?
The Mysterious Piano
Graham and Meg’s four children became experts in a span of six months. They used to practice, play and have fun. Music soothes one’s mind and lowers one’s stress level. In short, if played right, music is one of the most efficient stress relievers that not only works for humans but animals too. Be it the kids or be it their furry friend all used to enjoy the melody. While this piano was spreading happiness all around, it was also hiding the greatest secret the Hemmings will encounter in their lives.
A Reason To Celebrate
Every year, during the holidays, the Hemmings used to have these musical sessions where each one of them used to play their favorites. Those were the days to remember and the memories to cherish. Years passed and it was time for separation.
Time Flies
The kids grew up, completed their college and moved to different cities. For the first couple of years, all of them used to reunite during the holidays but as time passed, everyone got busy in their own lives. Busy enough to not even get along on the holidays. Graham and Meg used to live alone now and they never used the piano.
No Strings Attached
The piano that the kids used to fight for was now never played. It was just a showpiece, taking a lot of place in Graham and Meg’s home. Despite all the memories that were connected to this piano, the couple who learned the art of letting things go very well decided it was this piano’s turn to be removed. After all, it was not being used and it made them miss their kids even more.
