In 2015, they finally found what they were looking for and started working on it, to change their lives to reality. They were now searching google to get some idea from different people’s stories who are living the type of life Alyssa and Will were imagining for themselves. The couple was trying to get a rough idea behind how much their dream will cost and from where they need to start.
Hilde For Help
Alyssa and Will were not alone in their new journey, their family and friends were also supporting and a bonus was their loving Hilde. The couples mentioned on their blog about Hilde, as “a rambunctious Bernese Mountain Dog who is built for adventure”. She accompanies them on their mountain hikes, short bike rides, and backcountry ski. She further joined them for their new start!
Buy A Bus
The 2015’s spring was almost on its way when Alyssa and Will gifted themselves a precious 37′ school bus which they were planning to bring back to life to take it on roads again. The couple paid $5,500 for the 2001 GMC/Blue Bird which was in perfect condition to meet the couple’s requirements. However, buying the bus wasn’t enough, they were about to grant it a complete makeover. The priority was something else for two at that time.
Not Yet Insured!
Alyssa and Will contacted over 30 insurance companies to get their bus insured. None of them were convinced to give insurance as per the couple’s requirements and that was a big trouble for them. Despite the fact that their bus cannot hit the roads without being insured, the couple started working on their bus. They did such tremendous justice to the bus that you’ll be astonished to see the changes.
How Was It?
The bus was exactly how they expected it to be, most of the seats were removed and it had enough space for storing stuff. This is how the bus looked from the inside at first and required a lot of reworking but Alyssa and Will were up for all the challenges to bring out the best of this bus. The vision, they’d for it would require manpower as well as willingness.
Target Race
Will and Alyssa wanted to make the bus running with everything including the insurance as they wanted to compete in a 50km race that was to be held in Washington. So, their target date was June 18th. Both of them were trying hard to finish the work before the decided date, however, it seemed quite impossible at one point.
