Not Injured
On television, there are so many shows where we see cars blow up and explode when they catch fire. This could happen any moment now for Mike’s car as well. Since fire and cars do not mix well, there was no surety that he would ever be safe from harm. And during a crucial time like this, every seconds count as anything could happen…
Both Safe
Dean took about 16 seconds to reach his son’s burning car from the sidelines to safely get him out. He was quick to respond because he knew if he waited for the officials to act on it, his son could have lost his life. And by the time the pilot had reached several meters away from the fire, the officials finally reached. Even though Dean and Mike were not injured, something else took place that was unforgettable…
Looking Back!
And even though both their lives were in danger, the father and his driver son both got safely away from the fire. And Dean Jones was not just Mike’s father, he was also the crew chief. Since he was the closest person that stood near the site of the accident, he jumped over the fence to get to his helpless son. He was a brave man who only wanted to save his dear son.
Another Act
Everyone can agree that the action that Dean decided to go with was both a success and also a dangerous one. Who in their right mind would ever get close to a car that had caught on blazing hot fire? He did not want to stand idle and watch his son struggle to get out of the car so Dean jumped into action. But this was not all that he did would. Dean then looked back to watch the car…
Always By His Side
Dean was not just concerned with saving his son from the fire. He wanted to do some more. The man went back and got inside the fiery car. He then hit the fire suppression system in Mike’s car to help the fire crew put down the fire. Dean showed a brave act that impressed a lot of people that day. So when the race ended, Mike Jones was in the 14th place.
What Mike Had To Say
And so Dean was able to save both his son and the race car that caught fire. Mike had something to share about the incident later for all to read. In a Facebook post that the pilot wrote after surviving, Mike explained in his own words, “I remember catching fire in an all star tournament when I was 12 and I got knocked out from a play at the plate…”
