The couple though had grown old, they still were very much in love with each other. But the age had begun to take a toll on them. The woman got severely sick and had to be admitted to the hospital. After checking her health, the doctor gave very heartbreaking news to the old man. He said that the woman’s illness was not going to recover.
Sorting Affairs
The old woman had reached her final stage of life. The doctor had given up on her. The husband who had gone completely devastated by the news was left with lots of responsibilities. He went back home and could not help but relook at the things that reminded him of their blissful time together. It was then he stumbled upon that shoebox.
Back To Box
The box looked very old and was partially worn out. He remembered the first time he had laid his eyes on the box. They were recently married at that time. It was then he realized how time flies. One more thing that struck him was that his wife was still had this box, even after 60 years.
The Time
Curiosity overtook him once again but still, he did not open the box. He took it to his wife and waited for her reaction. She immediately grabbed it and gave a good long look at it. And after that, she gave it back to him. This time she wanted his husband to open it and see for himself what was inside it.
Unfathomable
The man could not understand the reaction of his wife. She had prohibited him from touching the box all her life and now she wanted him to open it. Why did she change her mind? Maybe because she was taking her last breath and so did not want to keep any more secrets from her husband. The man could not believe his eyes when he opened the box.
Change Of Mind?
60 years had gone by but the woman had always kept mum on the shoebox and the content kept inside it. And now she wanted him to look inside the box. He took the box from his wife and placed it on the bed. Finally, he was going to find out what was inside the box.
