Just think of how difficult it must have been for the parents to have to give away their precious daughter because of the policy in their country. There was also a request for anyone who received the letter to meet up with them on the famous Broken Bridge in Hangzhou after 10 or 20 years. However, there were other plans that Kati’s adoptive parents had.

The couple had traveled with Bethany Christian Services to the orphanage all the way to China where they adopted their new daughter. Ken and Ruth did not hesitate to take care of the girl as her adoptive parents. They felt like this was fate and that they were meant to be a family. So do you think they got to know about the letter that Jingzi’s parents wrote?

She’s American Through and Through

Kati then lived with her adoptive parents, the Pohlers, in a quiet town of about 7,000 people. There she was able to experience the classic American lifestyle and upbringing. She would go regularly to the church with her devoutly Christian parents. Kati also competed in sports, learned to play the violin, the piano and had explored the country.

Joining A Liberal Arts University

Kati went on to have a healthy and problem-free life that most American kids get to have. After she finished her high school, Kati then joined Calvin College. This was a liberal arts university and since she had always been interested in giving society something positive Kati decided to take up courses in public health and music.

If you were in their shoes, do you think you would be able to forget about your daughter that you left for adoption? So will they ever get a chance to see their daughter again?
