Mick Jagger, the lead singer of The Rolling Stones apparently wrote the song “Brown Sugar”, drawing inspiration from his daughter, Kris Jagger, he had from a secret relationship with model and singer, Marsha Hunt. A lot of people have claimed to be the inspiration for the song but it is pretty obvious that it was his daughter that inspired the song.

Pete Townshend, the lead singer for the popular band The Who, wrote the song “Athena” for an actress, Theresa Russell, on whom he was swooning. However, they were never romantically involved because Theressa outright rejected Townshend when he tried to make moves on her the first time they met.

Sir Elton John was honored with being chosen to perform at Princess Diana’s funeral after she died in a car crash that left a void in the hearts of many people in the world. The song “Candle In The Wind” was, however, merely adopted to Princess Diana’s funeral. It was originally written as a dedication for Marilyn Monroe.
