All of his friends had come together to rescue him. One of his Prague friend provided with the phone numbers of the Indonesian consulate. “A bunch of Mikey’s friends were posting phone numbers to call, and I got in touch with a woman named Christine at the consulate, I think.”
How Was He?
Sparks recalled, “She gave me her email and I sent her screenshots of Mikey’s location. I don’t want to think about what would have happened if he didn’t have his phone, or if his battery was dead,”
Help On Its Way
Thanks to the efforts made by Mikey’s friend the man was getting help very soon. Mikey managed to speak to the Indonesian authorities just the moment before his battery died out. “I got a call from a guy named Joe from the [consulate] who said help was coming but to help him find me. I told him there was a hotel near my GPS pin, that I’d be just before that hotel, then my battery died,” Mikey opened up.
Pin Drop
Soon, the Indonesian authorities got themselves all involved in the rescue mission. On the other side, Lythcott and Eno lying somewhere in the forest were praying for someone to spot them. Mikey had done everything he could to get them rescued now all they could do was to wait and pray.
Consoling Each Other
Once again Mikey began to fall out of his consciousness. He was very much in pain and wondered if he would ever be able to survive this catastrophe. However, he was well aware of the condition of his friend Eno who was lying just a few steps away from him. She was crying and had given up all the hope but the man kept comforting her. Mikey shared, “I really thought we would die so I wanted to comfort her,”
A Noise
They had no idea for how long were they going to stay there or perhaps live if the help fails to arrive on time. But after a few hours later he finally heard a noise. A noise that made his heart jump with joy. Someone was around them. Perhaps the rescue team…..
